Cancer is not an invasion of foreign bodies like bacteria or viruses. This disease is a kind of dark back of ourselves, our own crazed cells, which makes it a very difficult enemy to combat. For decades, the most common pharmacological option against the disease has been to poison all cells in the body in the hope that the cancerous ones will suffer more than the healthy ones (chemotherapy).
